Meadow Hot Springs

A gorgeous hot spring located 10 minutes off of HWY 15 in Western Utah. It is a short drive for a great experience.

Meadow Hot Springs was an all-around incredible experience. We arrived midday Sunday shortly after a snowfall. It was a relatively easy drive 15 minutes off the highway with only 5-10 minutes of dirt roads. Upon arrival you have 2 choices, park .25 mile away and walk in the cold to the spring or brave the crazy bumpy muddy frozen swamp road to get within 20-30 feet of the spring. Of course, we chose the latter. Our van is super solid off road..but when it comes to tight maneuvers or short valleys, things get dicey. We once again lifted a while a foot off the ground on the way in and dragged ass on the way out.

Once we were an and parked, it was waiting time. There were 5 or so cars there when we arrived and for the next 5 hours it was a steady flow of one car leaves as another arrives. This was a bit uncomfortable for us given covid and all so we played the waiting game. By evening, there was only a few stragglers left so we joined in and had a great soak. While it wasn’t super warm in the spring, it was so cold in the air it didn’t matter what the spring was, it was warmer. So we hung out with just out heads above water chatting with our silhouettes of companions in the dark night under the gorgeous night sky.By the time we were done soaking, there was only 1 other vehicle camping out and they chose the long path. So we had the spring and spot to ourselves for the evening. When morning came, we were met with an incredible sunrise over the mountains surrounding us. We soaked for a bit in the morning and went on our way having nothing but a positive experience int he rear view.
