Our Goals with NavigatingVanLife

In September 2021, Bryan and I took our van “Big Linda aka Blinda” out on a beta trip. We drove just short of an hour from his parent’s house where we lived and renovated our van (Thanks Julie & Joe ❤️) to Deer Creek State Park.

Summers in the midwest can be buggy, hot, and humid. So after parking the van and connecting the electrical and water hookups, we pulled closed our bug wall and settled into our “living/dining area” (the back u-shaped seating in our van). The heat was blazing and to distract my mind from the strong urge of starting the car and blasting the air conditioner, I pulled out a book titled Bucket List and set it on our table. In it were the numbers 1-100 with a space to list each item. This is the moment we began our “Van Life Bucket List”.

The rules are simple: 📖
☝🏻Each item has to be completed during our time living in the van.
✌🏻Each item has to be completed while traveling in the van; meaning no plane rides or special luxuries to get to these places or complete these tasks.

So what are our goals? Well, we’ve made some together and we’ve made a few as individuals, but when you live in a 90 sq foot van “your” and “my” goals quickly become our goals.
