6 Reasons We Love Vanlife

Our answer to this is pretty simple – Vanlife is good for your health 🫁

Caleigh has experience health complications for the majority of her adult life. Once she finally reached a point where she was healthy enough to travel and experience things, covid hit. Vanlife is our epic way to optimize for covid caution, health and wellness, and adventure.

Here are 6 reasons we love vanlife!

❤️ Physical Health | Daily hiking + Realizing the best views are always a few miles past the most popular points + Healthy diet + No room in the van for snacks = an all-around healthier human

🧠 Mental Health | Proximity to nature + Constant fresh air + Disparate and selective internet connection + Freedom from routine + Freedom of choice + Constantly achieving new milestones + Better physical health = all-around healthier mental state

➡️ Forward Momentum | Van life doesn’t have return trips..perhaps slight pauses and new visits to familiar places, but our progress is always forward. We are always marching towards something.

🍵 Minimalist Mindset | When you have space, it’s easy to fill it. It’s so easy to justify the, “what if I need this thing I didn’t know I had for the last five years some day” when you have the space to make it fit. When you don’t, the amount of things you actually need and want becomes more tangible and ultimately less overwhelming.

🌺 Appreciation for Nature and Sustainability | The parks are so beautiful..but it isn’t uncommon to find trash on the ground or see someone litter. Even worse, seeing graffiti on a rock wall or tree showcases an even more intentional lack of respect. The more parks we visit and the longer we stay, the more we notice it. It’s rough seeing this and it makes us want to act. Furthermore, inside the van trash collection isn’t abundant nor convenient. It has made us realize how much we actually consume. Seeing the damage others do + seeing how much we consume has made us want to act to a greater degree to reduce our footprint.

🚵‍♀️ Adventure | Vanlife brings the inner kid out of you again. The unapologetic explorer. You yearn to see what’s beyond the corner, atop the hill, in the water. You embrace spontaneity and while you make plans, you break them in a second when something cool comes up.

Vanlife may have some cons, but I cannot name another lifestyle I’ve had that brings all of these positive health factors to light.
